Painting Padiham 2026
Painting Padiham 2026 returns on Saturday 16th May for a day of creativity, competition and community celebration.
Artists, professional and amateur, are invited to create an original artwork capturing Padiham and its people, all in one day. Any style or medium is welcome (excluding photography). Participants will choose a location within a one-mile radius of Padiham Town Hall, including the grounds of Gawthorpe Hall and selected local businesses (with permission).
Artists register at the Event Hub in Padiham Town Hall with a blank canvas, then head out to paint. Completed works will be judged on the same day, with three main cash prizes announced at the Artists’ Celebration in the Ballroom at 5:00pm. All entries will then be exhibited for two weeks at the Picture House Gallery. The People’s Choice Award, voted for on Facebook, will be announced on Saturday 23rd May.
Visitors can follow the Artists’ Trail using free event guides and maps, watch artworks come to life, and learn more about each artist via numbered displays and bios.
Alongside the trail, enjoy a range of FREE family activities in the town centre, including pottery painting, craft workshops and face painting. Explore Padiham’s fantastic independent shops and award-winning eateries, then hop on the free vintage bus to Gawthorpe Hall, where admission is free for all visitors.
